The ISU soccer team finally scored a goal in its Big 12 play, but it wasn’t enough to get a win against No. 15 Kansas.

It was mostly a defensive battle throughout the whole first half until the Jayhawks got on the scoreboard near the end of the first half.

At the halftime, the score remained 1-0 and as the game went on both teams traded shot for shot. Senior Andrea Swanson recorded ten saves, which set a career high for saves in a game.

Kansas scored another goal in the 86th minute before the Cyclones picked up the pace to finish the game.

Sophomore Koree Willer got the Cyclones on the board with four minutes remaining in the game. Her goal was Iowa State’s first in Big 12 Conference play.

In the end, the Cyclones could not overcome the 2-1 deficit, and move to 6-10 overall and 0-6 in Big 12 play.

Iowa State will take on Texas Tech at 1 p.m. Oct. 26 in Lubbock, Tex.
