Cyclone Hockey handles HC Harbin

Cyclone Hockey was still too much for HC Harbin to handle Saturday night.

The Cyclones were off to a fast start with a goal 3:52 minutes into the first period by senior forward Seth Serhienko. HC Harbin’s Ji Peng responded with a goal off the power play 11:14 into the first period, evening the score.

In the second period Zack Johnson scored three goals, giving him a hat trick for the Cyclones. An Alex Grose goal made the Cyclone lead 5-1 heading into the third. 

Things did not get any easier for HC Harbin, with Iowa State scoring its sixth goal, again from Johnson.

The Cyclones finished up with 11 goals on 59 shots while Harbin had one goal with on 13 shots.

Next week, Cyclone Hockey travels to Oklahoma to face the Sooners Oct. 3 and 4. Iowa State will also play Central Oklahoma Oct. 5.
