Volleyball experiences deja vu at UNI

The ISU volleyball team went on the road Sept 24 and defeated the UNI Panthers in five sets for the second year in a row. What’s more is that the trend of the game also mirrored last year’s match.

In both matches, Iowa State won the first two sets, lost the third and fourth sets, but came back to win the deciding fifth frame.

Outside hitter Victoria Hurtt was limited with a foot injury, but back-up Morgan Kuhrt stepped up in a big way.

Kuhrt led the ISU offense with 14 kills at .355 clip. Before Sept. 24, Kuhrt had 17 kills on the entire year and was hitting .180.

Setter Suzanne Horner and libero Caitlin Nolan also turned in strong performances. Horner racked up 56 assists and Nolan dug up 32 balls, including 13 in the second frame.
