Home of Hilton Magic, Hilton Coliseum is known for its loud crowds and notoriously difficult atmosphere for opposing teams to win games. The 14,376-seat arena, located in the area of the Iowa State Center, is used year-round for men’s and women’s sports such as volleyball, basketball, gymnastics and wrestling.

Led by men’s and women’s basketball, attendance marks for nearly all sporting events at Hilton often rank among the the best in the nation by the end of the season. Due to such a high volume of fans and the number of events at Hilton, it is important to know the rules and policies before attending an event.

Students are able to enter through the north doors of Hilton Coliseum and sit wherever they choose in the student section on a first-come, first-serve basis. Student tickets are oversold, so students are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a seat. The student sections vary according to which event is happening.

Fans are not allowed to re-enter after scanning their ticket upon entry.

Signs are allowed only if approved by the athletic department prior to the game. Signs must be in good taste and not obstruct the view of other patrons. The athletic department has the authority to remove any signs.

Smoking is prohibited in all areas of Hilton Coliseum.

The athletic department asks that all fans refrain from going on the court at any time, including after the game. Any person entering the basketball court unauthorized is subject to arrest.

All students and fans are encouraged to follow all rules and regulations to ensure a positive game day experience at Hilton Coliseum.
