Get involved at Iowa State

Saige Heyer

One of the great things about Iowa State is that there are so many clubs, organizations and other ways to get involved on campus.

Clubs and organizations

In the back of this publication is a complete list of clubs and organizations on campus. You can contact the ones that interest you to find out how to join.

However, if you don’t see a club or organization that meets your interests, you can start your own. Visit www.sac.iastate.edu to find out how.

Study groups

This is a great way to make new friends and get good grades at the same time.

If you need to request a room in any of the buildings on campus, you can find the forms online at www.fpm.iastate.edu/roomscheduling/ or call 515-294-4493.

WelcomeFest

This event is a way for students to familiarize themselves with Iowa State and Ames businesses.

It will be Aug. 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.

ClubFest

In order to get a glimpse of the multitude of clubs and organizations on campus, this event has a handful of clubs and organizations on display for students to browse through.

It will be Sept. 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.

Volunteer

If you would like to volunteer, you can visit www.stuorg.iastate.edu/volunteer/index.html for information about the Student Volunteer Services. They strive to help on campus, around Ames and in Iowa.

Another idea for volunteering is to find any shelters or youth programs in the area.
