Former ISU guard Bubu Palo is suing his accuser from a sexual abuse case against him that was later dropped as well as one other woman.

In September 2012, Palo was charged with second degree sexual abuse arising from an incident in May 2012. Palo was originally suspended indefinitely from the ISU men’s basketball team pending an investigation. The charges were later dropped in January 2013, and he was reinstated on the team.

Palo was originally found innocent of violating the ISU Office of Judicial Affairs’ Student Code of Conduct. After an appeal, the ruling was later overturned and Palo was again dropped from the team in September 2013. Palo was reinstated on the ISU men’s basketball team once again after he was granted a temporary stay on Jan. 16.

Matthew Boles, Palo’s attorney, filed a petition with the Story County District Court for “an amount just reasonable and adequate compensation for the injuries and damages he has sustained, together with interest as by law allowed, punitive damages and the costs of this action.”
