The ISU softball team had a difficult game from the beginning against Kent State at the Class Act Federal Credit Union Classic.

From the bottom of the first inning the Cyclones were chasing to try to keep up with Kent State. By the bottom of the first Kent State was ahead 5-0.

Kent State scored two homeruns in two innings pushing its lead to 7-0.

By the fourth inning, Kent State powered in one more run. Finally, Iowa State got on the scoreboard with two runs made by Aly Cappaert and Lexi Slater.

Things started to turn around for the Cyclones in the fifth inning, sophomore infielder Aly Cappaert hit a dead center homerun.

All of this was a little too late for Iowa State. The final score after just 6 innings was 13-4 Kent State.

However, things turned around for the second game of the night for the Cyclones against Louisville.

It was a slow start for both teams in the first half of the game. It was not until the fourth inning that Iowa State scored. Senior Sara Rice had a 2-RBI hit putting the Cyclones ahead.

The Cyclones were not going to let Louisville take the lead. Iowa State did not allow any runs against them.

The final score was 2-0. The Cyclones play Wisconsin tomorrow night at 5:30.
