Improvisational comedy is nothing new, but the way it is presented is always new.

Whirled News Tonight is a critically acclaimed news satire improv group based in Chicago. They have been performing at the famous iO Theater for 11 years on a weekly basis.

The audience decides the material to be discussed by selecting articles from that day’s newspaper and pinning them on a bulletin board on stage. An “anchor” from the group then selects a random article and presents it in a witty approach.

Not only do these actors provide a satirical twist on events, but they offer a relatable view as well.

Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster and the Civic Center ticket office.
