Searching for an Apartment

With the second semester getting into full swing, it’s time to start looking ahead to the new year and begining that search for an apartment, whether you already live off campus, or want to get out of the dorms next year. For the first time apartment hunter, it can be a daunting task. Luckily, Iowa State University and the Ames area has many resources that can help you make this journey a little easier.

If you already have a location in mind as to where you want to live, don’t hesitate to do your research on the location to see i it a great fit for you. You might even have some friends that are in the area already so it would be a good idea to ask them about the living environment and if it conducive to your lifestyle. Since you will be spending afternoons and nights in your new home, you want to make sure it is a comfortable place where you will actually feel at home.

If you are still struggling to find that perfect place, don’t hesitate to get online to the Iowa State Daily’s website and look for apartment listings, whether it’s leases for a semester, or even subleases over the summer. Remember, apartments are first come first serve, so get that hunt started and good luck!
