ISU divers place 18th, 27th on second day of Georgia Invitational

Iowa State added two top-30 finishes in the 3-meter diving event at the Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Ga. on day two of the Georgia Invitational. 

The Cyclones lone senior, Jessica Henderson, cracked the top-30 for the second-straight day after placing 15th in the 1-meter event on Friday and 18th in the 3-meter event on Saturday. Henderson fell 17.60 points short of making the finals cut for the 3-meter dive after posting a 254.05 score. 

After failing on her first of six dives, sophomore Elyse Brouillette rebounded with 235.90 points on her remaining five dives, earning her a 27th place finish among 52 competitors. 

Freshman Becky Stochl posted a career high in the 3-meter event with a 190.20 score. 

The Cyclones will return to the Gabrielsen Natatorium for the final day of the Georgia Invitational on Sunday, where they will compete in the platform diving event.
