The ISU athletic department named Tony Minatta as the ISU soccer team’s new head coach Thursday.

Minatta replaces Wendy Dillinger, whose contract, it was announced in early November, wasn’t renewed. Dillinger, who coached at Iowa State for six seasons, didn’t coach the team in the Big 12 tournament after her contract wasn’t extended.

Minatta acted as the interim coach for the tournament as the Cyclones fell to Baylor, 1-0. He has spent the last two seasons at Iowa State as an assistant coach after being hired in 2012.
