The No. 25 ISU volleyball team fell to No. 1 Texas at Hilton Coliseum on Wednesday night in four sets.

For the first two sets, the Cyclones (18-8, 11-4 Big 12) looked like they were ready to compete with the Longhorns (22-2, 15-0 Big 12) losing the first set by a narrow 27-25 margin and winning the second set 25-17. Things quickly fell apart for the Cyclones when they came out of the locker room for the third set.

The Cyclones lost the third set 25-13. In the fourth set Texas jumped out to a big lead early once again en route to finishing the match with a 25-16 win in set four.

Redshirt freshman Morgan Kuhrt, who made her case for a more prominent role in last week’s loss to Kansas, had 10 kills on a team-high 40 attempts. Mackenzie Bigbee and Victoria Hurtt led the team offensively, however, with 11 kills apiece.

In her final regular-season home game, Kristen Hahn had a match-high 24 digs while Tenisha Matlock, also in her last regular-season home game, had eight kills and a .200 hitting percentage.

The Longhorns had a .336 hitting percentage in the match while the Cyclones only managed a .180 hitting percentage.

The Cyclones have just one more regular season match this Saturday on the road against Kansas State before turning their attention to the NCAA tournament.
