Cyclones outlast Auburn in South Point Shootout

The No. 23 ISU women’s basketball team beat Auburn 68-57 on Saturday to win the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas, Nev. 

The Cyclones (6-0) only led by one point at halftime with a 33-32 lead before pulling away in the second half to win against the now 4-3 Tigers.

Hallie Christofferson led the team for the sixth straight game with 18 points, and the preseason All-Big 12 selection also had led the team with eight rebounds and three assists on the night. Freshman Seanna Johnson turned in a 17-point performance, and added five rebounds.

Junior Nikki Moody led the team in assists with four and tallied nine points.

Iowa State will return to Hilton Coliseum for a matchup with Northern Iowa on Wednesday.
