The Cyclones had a firm 2-0 lead over Texas Tech after two sets at Hilton Coliseum and looked like they would be on their way to their second-straight sweep, but the Red Raiders had other ideas as they stormed back to force a fifth set.

Iowa State (13-6, 7-2 Big 12) eventually bounced back and defeated Texas Tech (8-17, 1-8 Big 12) in five sets after the Red Raiders won sets three and four.

The Cyclones had big serving numbers for the second-consecutive match with 15 aces after having 13 against TCU in their last match at home. Jenelle Hudson, Mackenzie Bigbee, Tory Knuth and Kristen Hahn had three aces each while Ciara Capezio had two and Morgan Kuhrt had one.

The Red Raiders also had a big night serving having 11 aces through five sets. TTU setter Nicole Hragyil had five aces in the match while libero Rachel Brummitt had three more.

Capezio led the match offensively with 16 kills. Knuth and Tenisha Matlock had 10 kills each. The Cyclones were outblocked by the Red Raiders 13.5-8.

The Cyclones return to action this Saturday on the road in Waco, Texas against Baylor, who the Cyclones swept in their first meeting this season on Sept. 8 at Hilton Coliseum.
