Iowa State sweeps TCU

The ISU volleyball team (12-6, 6-2 Big 12) won its second straight Big 12 match on Saturday against Texas Christian (13-9, 2-6 Big 12). The Cyclones beat the Horned Frogs in straight sets (25-14, 25-22, 25-23).

The afternoon started off slow for senior libero Kristen Hahn. She had only two digs in the first set, well below her average of 5.74 per set this season.

Hahn finished the match with 16 total digs. She also led the team in service aces with four against TCU.

Iowa State had 13 total service aces during the match with three or more aces coming from four different players.

Freshman outside hitter Ciara Capezio had nine kills on the afternoon. She added three aces and 11 digs to the win against the Horned Frogs.

The Horned Frogs were able to hit .245 against the Cyclones with two players over a .400 hitting percentage on the night. TCU also had eight total team blocks against Iowa State.

The win against TCU was Iowa State’s fifth sweep of a Big 12 opponent so far this season. Iowa State’s next match will be against Texas Tech on Wednesday.
