IOWA CITY, Iowa — The No. 25 ISU volleyball team won its ninth straight match against Iowa 3-1, recovering from back-to-back losses last weekend against Nebraska and St. Mary’s.

Sophomore hitter Mackenzie Bigbee led the Cyclones (6-4) in kills against the Hawkeyes with 16 in total and a .394 hitting percentage. Freshman Ciara Capezio added 12 kills of her own, and senior libero Kristen Hahn tallied 21 digs for Iowa State.

Alex Lovell was the lone Iowa player with double-digit kills at 17. Rachel Bedell had finished with nine.

Saturday’s win makes nine-straight wins against the Hawkeyes for Iowa State. Iowa has failed to win a Cy-Hawk match since 1997, and the Cyclones lead the all-time series 25-21.

Iowa State will have one week off before entering Big 12 play. Iowa State’s first match will be at home against Baylor on Sept. 28 at 4 p.m.
