Personal items were reported stolen from the Iowa locker room following the Cy-Hawk game Saturday.

The ISU Police Department said an investigation is ongoing but confirmed that items were reported stolen from the locker room in the Jacobson Athletic Building, located in the north end zone of Jack Trice Stadium, following Iowa’s 27-21 victory against Iowa State.

“We have a case of a theft of personal properties from the locker room and it remains under investigation,” said an ISU Police spokesperson representing police chief Jerry Stewart, to the Daily on Sunday.

Iowa linebackers coach LeVar Woods sent a tweet Sunday morning referencing his phone missing. There was no confirmation the two were connected.

“Sorry to anyone that tried to call/text me last night w/o a response, but my phone came up missing from the ISU locker room after the game,” Woods tweeted.

Iowa did confirm that items were stolen from both the player’s and coaches’ locker rooms during Saturday’s game.

“Iowa athletic department officials confirmed there were items missing from the Iowa players locker room and the Iowa coaches locker room following the football game in Ames,” said Steve Roe, spokesman for the Iowa athletic department, in a statement to the Daily. “Iowa State officials and local law enforcement agencies were very helpful once the incident was reported after the game.”

The ISU athletic department said it had no comment at this time, noting it being an ongoing investigation.
