ISU defensive end Willie Scott’s suspension has been lifted and he will be allowed to play against Northern Iowa when the season begins Aug. 31, coach Paul Rhoads announced Tuesday.

Scott, who started all 13 games for the Cyclones last season, was suspended indefinitely in April when he was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after being pulled over for not having his headlamps on.

According to the affidavit, Scott had a “green leafy substance located on his lap, consistent with the appearance of marijuana” when the officer arrived at the window of Scott’s car on April 3.

Scott is listed as the No. 1 left end on the team’s depth chart.
