Iowa State defeated in first round of Big 12 tournament

The ISU tennis team fell in the first round of the Big 12 tournament to Kansas by a score of 4-1 on April 25, 2013.

Iowa State (8-15, 1-8 Big 12) is eliminated from the tournament, while Kansas (11-9, 2-7) will advance to the quarterfinals to play No. 1 seed Baylor on April 26.

On the doubles side, Emma Waites and Caroline Andersen Hauge dropped their match 8-3 to Anastasija Trubica and Victoria Khanevskaya. The duo of Simona Cacciuttolo and Meghan Cassens lost their match 8-4.

On the singles side, Cassens was able to secure the only point for the Cyclones, winning her match against Paulina Los in two sets.
