Cyclones fall to No. 36 Washington

The ISU tennis team lost 7-0 to No. 36 Washington on Sunday in Seattle. The Cyclones are now 2-6 for the season.

The Cyclones were coming off of a win on Saturday in Seattle against Portland but were shut out in Sunday’s match.

Ksenia Pronina had a close singles match playing at No. 2 singles that went into a third set. Pronina lost to Grace Ysidora 6-3, 3-6, 7-10.

Caroline Anderson, playing No. 6 singles, also had a loss in the third set finishing 4-6, 1-6, 6-10.

Simona Caccuittolo lost 1-6, 3-6 at first singles. Jenna Langhost was defeated 0-6,1-6 and Emma Waites lost 0-6, 2-6.

The Cyclones dropped the doubles points losing in all three matches. Langhost and Pronina had a close match at No.1 doubles with a loss of 5-8.

The Cyclones host their next match in Ames at 6 p.m. against Drake, the team’s first home match played since Feb. 8.
