The ISU tennis team fell to No. 22 Texas on Thursday, March 21,2013, just two days after defeating UMKC, 4-0.

The loss drops to the Cyclones to 6-9 overall and 0-3 in Big 12 play.

Iowa State was up against stout competition as Ksenia Pronina’s opponent in the No. 2 singles match, Breaunna Addison, is ranked No. 52 in the nation and defeated Pronina in two sets. Simona Cacciuttolo’s opponent, Aeriel Ellis, is ranked No. 42 and also defeated Cacciuttolo in two sets.

On the doubles side Pronina and her partner, Jenna Langhorst, squared off against the No. 19 ranked duo of Noel Scott and Breaunna Addison, falling 8-3.

The Cyclones will continue Big 12 play Sunday, March 24, when they take on the Red Raiders of Texas Tech.
