The No. 12 ISU hockey team was originally supposed to play North Dakota State on Friday night, but the winter storm kept the Bison from getting to Ames.

Instead, the Cyclones took on the ISU Division III hockey team at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

Scott Ismond started in goal for the Division I team and allowed one goal in two periods. J.P. Kascsak had two goals in the third period and Nate Percy had one goal and one assist in the game en route to a 5-1 victory for the ISU Division I team.

The Division III team kept pace with the Division I team for most of the first period. The division I team didn’t break the scoreless tie until 18:26 into the period with a goal by Percy, his third of the season. Mike Dopko and Matt Szpak were credited with the assists.

The Division I team scored 4:36 into the second period to go up by two. Jon Feavel sent a pass to the middle for Chris Cucullu who decked around Division III goalie Jack Rice and scored on the backhand. Derek Kohles scored for the Division I team once again 59 seconds later to put the Cyclones up 3-0.

The Division III team got on the board 16:33 into the second period when a shot by defenseman Kyle Castle was tipped past Ismond by Marty Janecke.

Matt Cooper took over for Ismond in the third period and shut the Division III team out for the period.

The Cyclones will celebrate senior night and play the ISU Division III hockey team again on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.
