The ISU wrestling team won its final dual of the regular season on Sunday afternoon in shutout fashion, dominating Eastern Michigan by a 39-0 score.

The Cyclones (9-4, 1-2 Big 12) picked up six major decisions and one win-by-fall against the Eagles (7-13, 1-4 MAC) en route to their second victory of the weekend. The Cyclones also defeated Michigan State 30-10 on Friday night.

Ryak Finch (125 pounds), John Meeks (133), Luke Goettl (141), No. 19 Michael Moreno (165), No. 20 Tanner Weatherman (174) and No. 15 Boaz Beard (184) all earned major decisions for the Cyclones on Sunday. All six of these wrestlers also earned major decisions against Michigan State on Friday.

Moreno, wrestling at 165 pounds, increased his team lead in wins to 22 with Sunday’s victory.

ISU redshirt sophomore No. 7 Kyven Gadson earned his second win-by-fall of the weekend and third in as many matches as he pinned Eastern Michigan’s Nick Whitenburg at 197 pounds.

Gadson finished his comeback campaign with a 19-2 record in the regular season following his recurring shoulder problems.

Max Mayfield (149 pounds), Logan Molina (157) and Matt Gibson (heavyweight) all picked up victories on Sunday, as well.

Now that the Cyclones’ regular season is over, they will await the Big 12 Duals on March 8 and the Big 12 Championships on March 9.
