The ISU men’s golf team is in 11th place out of 17 teams after one round of golf at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.

The Cyclones shot 12-over par their first day of competition in Palm Springs, trailing meet leader TCU (-11) by 23 strokes.  However, only five strokes separate the Cyclones from sixth-place Idaho (+7).

The Cyclones were led by Scott Fernandez, who shot a 72 even-par round. He is currently tied for 17th individually, trailing tournament leaders Julien Brun (TCU) and Clement Sordet (Texas Tech) by four strokes.

The Cyclone scorecard was finished out by Duncan Croudis (74), Sam Daley (76), and Collin Foster (78).

The meet will continue with round two being played Saturday and the third and final round to be played Sunday.
