The ISU swimming and diving team was defeated by Illinois in its first meet of the new year Friday. The team lost 194-106, falling to 2-4 on the season in dual meets.

Freshman Elyse Brouillette broke the 300-mark with her personal best of 300.08 on the 3-meter board to earn first place. Brouillette is on the ISU all-time top 10 list for diving in three categories.

Sophomore Amanda Paulson set an ARC Pool record with a time of 23.36 in the 50-freestyle.
