The ISU soccer team showed up in a big way offensively on Tuesday night, defeating Northern Iowa by a final score of 7-1 at the ISU Soccer Complex in Ames.

The seven goals sets a new season-high for the Cyclones (4-2), who had scored just four goals total in the four games leading up to Tuesday night.

The Cyclones jumped ahead of the Panthers (3-4) early, getting out to a 3-0 lead just less than 15 minutes into the game. ISU junior Jessica Stewart and sophomore Ashley Johnson had a goal and an assist each in the first half. Stewart added another assist in the second half.

Northern Iowa got on the scoreboard toward the end of the first half, as sophomore Charlotte Jones netted her third goal of the season.

The Cyclones extended their lead in the 66th minute with a goal by junior Jennifer Dominguez, her second of the game and third of the season.

Junior Meredith Skitt added a goal in the 73rd minute to give the Cyclones a commanding 5-1 lead. Sophomore Addison Nokels scored her first goal as a Cyclone in the 83rd minute. Kaeli Flaska buried the final goal of the game for the Cyclones in the 88th minute, capping off the 7-1 onslaught.
