ISU thrower Hillman finishes fourth at World Junior Championships

Freshman weight thrower Christina Hillman throws 14.07 meters, landing her in seventh place overall in the weight throw in the ISU Open on Friday, Jan. 20.

ISU freshman thrower Christina Hillman finished fourth in the shot put at the World Junior Championships Tuesday, July 10, in Barcelona, Spain.

With a throw of 16.11-meters, Hillman qualified for the finals with the third-best mark and eventually finished fourth in the finals, with her best throw being 16.27-meters.

The under-20 championships were only an addition to a long season for Hillman. During the 2011-12 indoor track and field season, Hillman earned All-Big 12 honors after finishing seventh in the shot put at the Big 12 Indoor Championships. 

Hillman will compete in another event later this month in Maryland.
