Summer renovations taking place in Larch Residence Hall

Larch Residence Hall is undergoing its first round of renovations this summer. Built in 1971, the building will boast brand new windows, heating and cooling systems, sprinkler systems, exterior doors, and a few minor casting retouches.

The construction contractor Reep Incorporated was selected to lead the building renovations. All systems being replaced were those installed in the 1970s.

Reep worker Jim Robinson chuckled, “It’s the first time they’ve renovated this one — its all original stuff being replaced!”

The new installments will provide more functional, energy efficient systems for a better and safer dormitory environment.

Erin Hughes, a senior who spent her 2009-10 school year living in Larch commented, “It will be really nice improvement. The residents will definitely appreciate it.”

All renovations are to be conducted in a 57-day period, meaning Larch Hall will be student-ready by July 27.
