The Rock Christian Students, a campus ministry branch of Stonebrook Community Church, will be hosting their monthly large group gathering on at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The event will take place at Zeke’s Music and Arts Venue at 3329 Lincoln Way. Within The Rock, there are two House Churches that meet as smaller groups.

“The monthly large group gatherings are intended to supplement the smaller group sessions,” said Titus Klinge, student leader in The Rock and graduate assistant in computer science.

The large group worship was established last spring and about 60 to 85 people generally attend.

“The event includes a band leading the group in worship and then a message shared by campus director and pastor, Paul Johnson,” said Brian Peck, president of The Rock and graduate student in electrical and computer engineering.

After the large group gathering concludes around 9 p.m., people spend time getting to know one another and partaking in activities such as board games. Friday’s gathering will feature a short show performed by a student in The Rock Band. The performance will preview his album that is soon to be published.
