ISU tennis falls to Marquette 5-2

The ISU tennis team was defeated 5-2 by Marquette on Saturday, despite encouraging wins from freshmen Meghan Cassens and Ksenia Pronina.

Seniors Tessa Lang and Marie-Christine Chartier managed to win their second doubles match of the weekend, but the other doubles teams lost 8-3, 8-3.

In singles play, Pronina and Cassens both claimed their second singles wins of the weekend but no one else on the team managed to win a set.

With the loss, the Cyclones drop to 0-3 and Marquette improves to 3-0.

Iowa State will travel to Iowa City next weekend to face off against the Flames of Illinois-Chicago on Saturday and the Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday.
