Cyclones fall short for sixth straight loss

The ISU tennis team dropped a tight 4-3 match to College of Charleston on Friday afternoon.

ISU junior Simona Cacciuttolo earned her first singles win of the season, beating Caroline Newman 6-1, 6-3. ISU sophomore Emma Waites also earned her first win in her first meet of the season, defeating Olivia McMillan 6-3, 6-4.

Ksenia Pronina continued her solid play for the Cyclones, defeating Kelly Kambourelis 6-3, 6-1, to grab her team-high fourth win of the season. Pronina also teamed up with Cacciuttolo to win their doubles match 8-7.

With the win, College of Charleston improves to 3-2 on the year, while Iowa State drops to 0-6.

The Cyclones will take on Charleston Southern on Saturday at 10 a.m.
