Iowa State falls to Michigan

Iowa State suffered its second loss in three games on Sunday. The Cyclones fell short to the Wolverines 56-49 in Ann Arbor. The game is part of the Big 12/ Big 10 Challenge.

Junior forward Jessica Schroll and sophomore forward Hallie Christofferson lead the way for the Cyclones with 12 and 13 points respectively. Overall though Iowa State struggled to shoot once again, shooting 33 percent from the field.

Sophomore forward Chelsea Poppens helped out on the boards, pulling down 11 to go with her nine points. Christofferson pulled down 10 rebounds

Michigan went with a four guard lineup for much of the game and were lead by Courtney Boylan and Kate Thompson. Boylan lead all scorers with 17 points and Thompson contributed 15.

Jenny Ryan finished the game with 11 points of her own to go with 10 boards.

Michigan showed a strong performance from behind the line, making eight of their 18 three-pointers. Iowa State shot 10-36 from behind the arc.

The Cyclones continued to struggle with turnovers, as they have all season. Against the Wolverines, 18 Iowa State turnovers lead to 21 points for Michigan.

Iowa State returns home to play Iowa on Wednesday Dec. 7th.
