There are over 30 student clubs and organizations in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and this week Iowa State students have a chance to learn about all of them.

As a part of CALS Week, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will be hosting a club showcase on Central Campus on Wednesday.

“The CALS Club showcase is a great way for all of the clubs in the College of Ag &Life Sciences to share what they are all about with students,” said Carly Cummings, a senior in Ag Business and Co-Chair for the CALS Week committee.

Each organization will have a display set up on during the free luncheon sponsored by CHS & Gold’n Plump.

“Club displays will be showcased for students to learn about involvement opportunities that align with their interests,” said Darrin Rahn, CALS Student Council President.

Student organizations play a huge part of CALS Week. The Forestry Club will be hosting a Timbersports Demonstration consisting of wood chopping competitions Tuesday on Central Campus.

The Culinary Science Club will be selling popcorn during the week, while the Dairy Science Club will be peddling ice cream on Central Campus

All students are encouraged to check out the club showcase even if they are not enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

“It is a great opportunity to meet new people and get involved on campus,” said Cummings.

CALS Week continues its activities through Saturday, including the Tom Vilsack lecture entitled “Global Food Insecurity” Tuesday night, the Neil Hewitt concert on Wednesday, and the Block & Bridle Little North American Showmanship Classic Saturday morning.
