In the early morning hours of July 24, Iowa State defensive back Earl Brooks was arrested and cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

According to police reports, Brooks was seen driving the wrong direction down a one-way street near the intersection of Osborne Drive and Stange Road around 3 a.m.

Brooks, a 23-year-old senior from Deerfield Beach, Fla. saw action in every game for Iowa State last season, recording one tackle. Brooks was also named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll last fall.

Brooks’s arrest marks the third time a Iowa State football player has been arrested for an OWI in 2011.
