Intramural registration opens

Registration for summer intramural sports opened on May 16; it will run until May 26 at 5 p.m.

The following leagues are available to 2011 ISU students, faculty, staff, spouses and affiliates who have a valid ISU ID:

Slow-pitch softball: There will be men’s, women’s and  coeds’ divisions. Men’s and women’s games will be played at the SE Intramural Softball Fields at University Blvd. and South Fourth St. on Mondays starting in June and running through July.

The coed division will also play at the SE Intramural softball fields, but their games will be on Wednesdays. Game times for all three divisions will be 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

For those who would like to participate but do not have a team to play with, there is the option of registering as a free agent and getting assigned to a team.

Four-player sand volleyball: There will be men’s, women’s and coeds’ divisions. All divisions will play their games at the SE Intramural Complex at University Blvd. and South Fourth St.

Men’s and women’s teams will play their games on Tuesdays. Coed teams will play on Thursdays. All games will be scheduled to begin between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Sand volleyball will also have a free agent option for those who want to play but do not have a team.

Broomball: There will be men’s, women’s and coeds’ divisions. All games will be played at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena on Gateway Hills Park Dr., which is just south of Towers Residence Halls.

Men’s and women’s teams will play their games on Mondays from 8:15 to 10:15 p.m. Coeds will play on Wednesdays from 10:15 p.m. to 12:15 a.m.

Broomball players can also take advantage of the free agent option to be assigned to a team.
