Currica takes second in decathlon at Kansas Relays

Four Cyclones in multi-events wrapped up action Thursday at the Kansas Relays with senior Jamal Currica finishing in second place in the men’s decathlon. Currica, an Ames native, finished only nine points behind Nebraska’s Teran Walford with a final score of 6,577 points.

Currica notched victories in two of the 10 events-the 110-meter hurdles (15.15) and the pole vault (13-07.25).

On the women’s side, junior Jordon Andreassen finished the highest of all Cyclones in the heptathlon in fourth place. Freshmen Jenny Dillon and Anna Holtermann finished in seventh and 10th, respectively.
