ISU football player Jacob Lattimer was arrested early Saturday morning near the intersection of Chamberlain Street and Welch Avenue in Ames.

The former JUCO defensive end was charged with one count of assault on a peace officer and one count of interference with official acts.

Officers Steve Spoon and Heath Ropp of the Ames Police Department arrested Lattimer in Campustown and later took him to Story County Jail in Nevada, where he was held on $1,300 bond.

The department declined to release further information about the arrest, citing ongoing investigation.

Lattimer, a 6-foot-2-inch, 240-pound redshirt junior led the Cyclones in sacks last season, his first full year as a starter.

On the day of his arrest, the Associated Press reported that Lattimer had been suspended indefinitely.
