Cyclones obliterate Leathernecks, 17-0

Tori Torrescano proved herself to be a true dual threat against Western Illinois at the Cyclone Indoor Invitational.

Torrescano collected two hits, two runs, and also drove in three runs as the Cyclones walloped the Leathernecks, 17-0.

Torrescano allowed three hits in five innings while striking out three on her way to the victory. 

Nine runs in the third inning coupled with six in the fourth propelled the Cyclones to 2-0 at their home tournament. 16 players took to the field for Iowa State with Torrescano, Heidi Kidwell, Dalyn Varela, and Carliegh Berry each scoring multiple runs.

The Cyclones will start off Day 2 of the tournament in a rematch with the Leathernecks, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Bergstrom Indoor Facility
