A Des Moines man is dead after a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of South Duff Avenue and South 2nd Street, according to Ames police.

Kyle Crozier of Des Moines, age 29, has been identified as the driver of the motorcycle. He was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

“That intersection … has stop signs on South 2nd and so it can be a difficult intersection to maneuver when there’s a lot of traffic there,” said Cmdr. Jason Tuttle of the Ames Police Department.

The other driver in the accident was identified as Robert Fink, age 27, of Ames. Tuttle said the other vehicle involved was a Chevy Impala.

“At this point, we are looking further into the investigation as to what happened, but there will probably be some type of traffic charges likely — nothing criminal in nature,” Tuttle said.

The incident is still under investigation by the Ames Police Department and Iowa State Patrol.
