Cyclones outgun Red Raiders 52-38

David Merrill

Iowa State used a 24-point second quarter en route to a 52-38 win against Texas Tech at Jack Trice Stadium on Saturday night.

A game that went back and forth for awhile broke plenty of ISU records, including the most points a Cyclone team has ever scored against a Big 12 opponent.

Quarterback Austen Arnaud passed for four touchdowns, and running back Alexander Robinson added one on the ground.

The Cyclones took a 24-14 lead into the half, allowing a couple quick Texas Tech scores at the end of the half.

Featuring Iowa State’s first kick return touchdown since 1994 and the Cyclones’ first 50-point game since 2002, it was an exciting night in Ames and moves the Cyclones to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big 12.

More as it comes from Jack Trice Stadium after the game.
