Honors and awards have become fairly common for senior distance runner Lisa Koll, graduate student in veterinary medicine. Koll added another to her list of achievements Wednesday.

For the second consecutive year, Koll was recognized as the Big 12 women’s Performer of the Year.

This honor comes after Koll won the 10,000-meter with a time of 33:51.74 and 5,000-meter with a time of 15:22.42, beating the previous conference record by 36 seconds, and helping the women’s team finish fourth at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Koll is currently the collegiate leader in the 10,000-meter and 5,000-meter competitions.

In her final season at Iowa State, Koll has enjoyed a memorable year. This past season, she has broken multiple records in track and field and has a chance to finish strong competing May 27-29 at the NCAA regional competition and June 9-12 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.
