Two clutch three-pointers late in the game gave Iowa State a victory over Big 12 rival Texas on Saturday afternoon 73-71 in Austin. A three by senior point guard Alison Lacey tied the score to send the game into overtime, and junior guard Kelsey Bolte’s trey with 56 seconds left in overtime sealed the deal for the Cyclones.

After a timeout by Texas and a possession, freshman post Anna Prins came up with a huge block for the Cyclones, denying the Longhorns’ attempt to score.

With five seconds to play in the game, Texas’ Erika Arriaran missed a jumper, but a Texas player was there to snatch the rebound, only to turn it over into the hands of Lacey for the Cyclones to take the game at 73-71.

Even after trailing by 14 points in the second half, the Cyclones battled back and were led by Lacey’s 20 points and Bolte’s 19.

Leading the Longhorn brigade were Brittainey Raven and Ashleigh Fontenette with 18 points a piece.
