HOCKEY: Cyclones top Sun Devils

from, but Iowa State overcame Friday night’s loss and beat Arizona

State on

“3”>The game got off to a slow start in the first period. Arizona

State broke the 0-0 <span style=

“font-family:”>scoring a goal with one second left

to play in the period.

“3”>Iowa State’s Cody Steele responded with a goal two minutes into

the second period. Minutes later, Chris Mackay was able to get the

puck past the Sun Devil’s goalie to put the Cyclones up 2-1. From

then on, the Cyclones never looked back.

“3”>With ten minutes to play in the second, Cyclone forward Brian

Spring found the back of the net on Iowa State’s first power play

goal of the weekend.

“3”>Freshman Derek <span style=

“font-family:”>sealed the game in the third period

scoring on an empty net near the end of the game.

“3”>With the weekend split, Iowa State moves to 13-4-3. Iowa State

“3”>the University of Manitoba next weekend to play an
