MTV preparing to film Montag, Pratt nuptials

LOS ANGELES — Will they or won’t they — again?

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, the reality-TV couple whose on-again, off-again relationship has been chronicled by MTV’s “The Hills,” weren’t present at a panel celebrating the series Tuesday night because they’re preparing for their Saturday wedding, the show’s executive producers told the crowd at the William S. Paley Television Festival.

“It’s a big gigantic event that takes the two of them to pull off,” Adam DiVello said.

“And a white dress,” added Liz Gateley.

DiVello said the show’s crew was preparing to film the event. It won’t be the first time that Montag, 22, and Pratt, 25, have attempted to tie the knot on camera. The pair appeared before a deputy commissioner at a Beverly Hills courthouse last December — but didn’t say “I do” — after acknowledging their Nov. 19 marriage ceremony in Mexico was only symbolic.

Of those “Hills” cast members present at the PaleyFest panel — Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Lauren “Lo” Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt — many said they were invited to the ceremony, but it was unclear who would actually show up on Saturday.

Before the panel, “Hills” star Conrad said she was invited but would not attend.

“I think that it was very nice of her to invite, but I think that she didn’t really expect me to come,” she said.

The guest list wasn’t the only thing in question. Los Angeles county records indicated Wednesday that Pratt or Montag have yet to receive a marriage license, but the couple could have opted for a confidential license, which exempts it from public-record searches. During weekdays, marriage licenses can be issued on the same day in Los Angeles.
