Iowa State came up big on Senior night at Hilton Coliseum as the Cyclones sent their five seniors home with a 59-49 victory over Kansas (17-12, 6-10) on Saturday.

Nicky Wieben led the Cyclones with 20 points, missing a double-double by only one rebound. Heather Ezell finished with 14 points.

After leading at half 32-20, the Cyclones were able to hold off a Jayhawk rally in the second half, opening up a 17 point lead with three minutes left in the game.

With the win, the Cyclones completed a 23-win regular season, which tied the 1997-98 squad for the best regular season record in school history. Iowa State also secured a third place finish in the Big 12 standings, earning the team a bye in the first round of next week’s conference tournament.
