Instead of running during the scheduled week of March 30 through April 5, Veishea 2009 has parlayed the week-long event to take place April 13 through April 19.

After battling unwelcoming weather during Veishea 2008, individuals from the Veishea advisory council, Iowa State University administration and current Veishea executive board agreed that a change in dates was necessary.

Current Veishea general co-chairs, Kyle Peterson, junior in marketing, and Megan Todd, senior in marketing, said “constant feedback” from faculty members, alumni and students was taken into consideration during the decision making process.

Todd said there is hope from Veishea for a positive reaction from students after weather played an intrical role in deterring attendace for outdoor activites during Veishea 2008.

“I think they’ll be excited about the change,” Todd said about the anticipated reaction from the ISU student population. “Obviously the weather, you can’t predict, you never know.I think they’re going to be happy that it’s moved up two weeks into the calendar schedule.”
