Iowa State fell flat in a 90-75 loss at West Virginia Wednesday, falling behind 54-33 by halftime and failing to make a comeback.

The Cyclones dropped to 9-8 in Big 12 play on the season (20-10 overall).

The Mountaineers’ 54 points in the first half gave them a big lift going into the break. Junior forward Jermaine Haley had 20 points in the first half and finished with 28, a new career-high.

Iowa State was led by sophomore guard Lindell Wigginton. Wigginton, starting his first game since the season opener on Nov. 6, 2018, led the team with 17 points.

Iowa State got double-digit point performances from freshmen Tyrese Haliburton (12), Talen Horton-Tucker (11) and redshirt senior guard Nick Weiler-Babb (10).

The Cyclones return to action Saturday for senior day when Texas Tech comes to Hilton Coliseum.
