Iowa State’s top two offensive weapons this season — wide receiver Hakeem Butler and running back David Montgomery — were back to competing this weekend.

The two participated in the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Measurements

Montgomery weighed in at 222 pounds with a 5-foot-10 frame.

Butler, on the other hand, stirred up some buzz with his measurements. The wide receiver checked in just under 6-foo-6, but he weighed in at 227 pounds.

Butler’s hands measured 10 3/4 inches and his lengthy arms hit 35 1/4 inches.

40-yard dash

Montgomery ran a 4.63 second 40-yard dash time, placing him slightly below average for a running back but about where he was expected to land.

Butler boosted his draft stock with a blazing 4.48 second time. The time slotted him in the 16th spot for receivers, but the time bodes well for him because of his size.

Bench press

Montgomery pumped 15 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench, and Butler reached 18.

Vertical jump

Butler leaped to a 36.0-inch vertical, and Montgomery snagged a 28.5-inch vertical.

Broad jump

Butler added a 128.0-inch broad jump, while Montgomery had a 121.0-inch broad jump.
