Cassidy Boe a senior in nutritional sciences discusses the fear of fatness in the session “Not an Epidemic: How Our Fear of Fatness is Rooted in Colonialism.” The session was part of the 2019 ISCORE Conference and discussed the historical construction of the thin ideal and how it relates to colonialism and how the pursuit of whiteness became a pursuit of thinness masked as a pursuit of health.
