ISU senior gymnast Janet Anson’s career came to a disappointing close after she failed to qualify in any event for the individual finals at the 2007 NCAA Championships at Utah’s Jon M. Huntsman Center.

Despite missing the finals, Anson was named a second-team All-American for tying for eighth place on beam with a score of 9.875. She just missed second-team All-American status when she tied for 10th in the all-around with a total score of 39.250.

Anson leaves behind an impressive legacy, and cemented her place as the best gymnast in Iowa State’s history during her four-year stint.

The eight-time All-American was honored as the 2007 North Central Region Gymnast of the Year, and became the only gymnast in Big 12 history to win Big 12 Gymnast of the year twice in a row [2006 and 2007].
